The survey is now able to be distributed via unique URLs, as was confirmed this morning when our staff enrolled through the online platform as a “test” participant and successfully received an automated text message with a unique survey link. However, upon completing the survey, our online Control Panel did not reflect a “completed” status of this test survey.
Given there were still some tech issues in getting the survey platform to communicate with our Control Panel, we decided to enroll one participant per Research Assistant so as not to have too many participants to track.
One participant was able to be enrolled immediately and also completed the survey on his own online. Another participant scheduled their enrollment call for later in the day, so in the meantime we decided to reach out to another potential participant for enrollment. One of the participants enrolled on Monday has yet to complete the phone survey.
In summary, we have 4 enrolled participants, 2 of which have completed the baseline survey.
A few issues noted today:
We currently aren’t able to access the survey URL that is sent via automatic text message to participants (we have to ask them to forward it back to us if they want us to complete it on the phone). So we will be asking the programmer to make this available for the RAs in cases where participants want to complete the survey via telephone.
We are also considering whether or not to provide an incentive for completing the baseline survey because of its length. From the CAT experience, female participants seemed to have more trouble with having enough data to complete the survey – which may also be found to be true for the beta test.
